Shane Yumikura is a Master’s student at the Asian Center, University of the Philippines, majoring in Northeast Asia. She has professional experience in Philippine government service, including work at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in export development and pilot programs for creative and cultural economy policy, and at the Philippine Commission on Women as a Senior Gender and Development Specialist. She also worked in media relations and public affairs for the Philippines Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai and the Department of National Defense (DND). She has contributed to institutional publications, including the Bangkóta Legacy for Expo 2020 Dubai and the Defense Chronicle of the DND. Her research interests include China, Philippines–China geoeconomic relations, national development, and creative and cultural industries.
