
Remzie Shahini Hoxhaj

Remzie Shahini-Hoxhaj is Vice Dean of the Faculty of Philology and Professor of Communication at the University of Prishtina "Hasan Prishtina," where she founded and directed the Media Institute (2011–2024). She has held international appointments at the University of Applied Sciences Salzburg (2019–2021) and Dartmouth College (2017). She holds a Ph.D. in Communication and Journalism from the University of Vienna, dual master's degrees in Intercultural Communication from Europa-Viadrina University and St. Kliment Ohridski University, and a bachelor's in German Language and Literature.
Her peer-reviewed research focuses on television and communication cultures in transitional societies, public relations, and media literacy. She leads international initiatives in education and human rights in Kosovo and serves on boards including IC4ML, ESEC, Ramos Research Institute, and the Oral History Institute Kosovo. She is president of the Austrian–Kosovar Society (OEKG) and is fluent in Albanian, English, German, and Serbo-Croatian.
