Elira Canga is a media and communications professional with more than two decades of experience in journalism, media development and strategic communication. She has held leadership and advisory roles with international organizations including the OSCE, UNICEF, World Bank and World Health Organization, while also serving as a lecturer in Journalism and Communication at the University of Tirana. She is now pursuing her PhD studies at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Communication - Arizona State University where she has been teaching courses as Media and Society, Multimedia Journalism and News Writing and Reporting. Her research and professional interests include media freedom, disinformation, fact-checking, media literacy, institutional communication, and the development of resilient and independent media ecosystems in Albania and the Western Balkans.
