
Dr. Ioanna Georgia Eskiadi

She is a researcher specializing in immersive journalism, artificial intelligence, XR (VR/AR/MR), and emerging media technologies, holding a PhD in Journalism and Mass Communication from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and postdoctoral research credentials from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA).
Her work explores how immersive media, AI, and digital platforms are transforming journalism, audience engagement, media ethics, and information ecosystems. She focuses particularly on immersive storytelling, AI-driven communication, XR ethics, media literacy, disinformation, and the societal implications of emerging technologies.
She has contributed to international projects funded by Google, Erasmus+, Horizon 2020, Google News Initiative, and EuropeAid, and her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at international conferences across Europe and beyond.
Alongside her research, she actively engages in teaching, training, and interdisciplinary collaboration, supporting journalists, educators, institutions, and media organizations in navigating AI-driven transformation and the future of digital communication.
