
Dr. Anna G. Orfanidou
Assistant Professor, University of York Europe Campus, Greece
Dr. Anna G. Orfanidou is an Assistant Professor at the University of York Europe Campus, where she teaches Journalism and Communication. She is a researcher at the International Peace Journalism Laboratory and a member of the Digital Communication Network Global and the UNESCO UNITWIN Network. Her research focuses on Media Literacy, Disinformation, and News Consumption. She has presented her research at numerous international conferences and has published seven articles in peer-reviewed academic journals. She is fluent in English, German, French, Spanish, and Turkish.
Dr. Orfanidou earned her PhD with Distinction from the School of Economics and Political Sciences, Department of Journalism and Mass Media Communication, at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and is currently pursuing her postdoctoral research.
Alongside her academic career, she is an active journalist with more than 15 years of experience as a columnist and also hosting morning infotainment radio programmes. She is also an active member of the Journalists’ Union of Macedonia and Thrace.
