THISAM through Peace Journalism Lab, School of Journalism and Mass Media Communications, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is part of the United Nations Impact Network (UNAI) initiative that aligns institutions of higher education with the United Nations in supporting and contributing to the realization of United Nations goals and mandates, including the promotion and protection of human rights, access to education, sustainability and conflict resolution. 

Thessaloniki International Media Summer Academy actively supports the 17 sustainable development goals of United Nations which constitutes as Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon “as a universal, integrated and transformative vision for a better world”. The Sustainable Development Goals are the blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all and THISAM aims to promote them with a special emphasis in Goal 4 Quality Education in order to ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including, among others, through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, global citizenship and appreciation of cultural diversity and of culture’s contribution to sustainable development.
